A Taste of Pinella's Rock Poster
Here is a poster i created for this year's TASTE OF PINELLAS festival.
Its a pretty cool festival i am told.... this is a sorta different style for me where i throw away all line work and just start building shapes of color on top of other shapes of color.... I use Adobe Illustrator to create this effect click image to enlarge...

Free Art Test - Jelly of the Month
I did this playing catch up on Jelly of the Month. the topic was FREE ART TEST. it was a send away test that was advertised on tv between every cartoon in the early 80s. If you don't remember it look at this youtube video. (its the second commercial)
Anyhow i remember it mostly playing between Godzilla movies in the afternoons on WPIX or the Big Apple (which i believe was channel 5) so i decided to combine the two and make a mecha ghidorah out of the test.

Hey i am a published illustrator now!

NEW Board Game design
Hey All,
this took up most of the beginning of the year for me but i finally got the okay to show some images of the designs.
The game is titled FLAPDOODLE. Its for young kids. Premise is 6 characters are caught in a whacky Suess/wonka like candy factory and you gotta help them thru it.. Each space you draw a card and have to answer a question or do somethign whacky.. You get the point...

Ok i am not sure if any of you are familiar with the aquabats but they are a southern CA band that dress up like wierd superheroes and sing silly songs.. well one of the songs is Mechanical Ape and i was inspired to draw a pic of what i think the ape they describe looks like.
gonna draw the band flying around in silly airplanes around him eventually and finish it up. thank god for drawing.. you can escape reality for a little while...

Su's Zombie
Ok so a bunch of people sked Who is the girl in the pic and why do you have a mullet?
I will answer the first question...
The girl in the pic's name is Su and she was a year ahead of me in college and i lived under for a crazy year of my life. The girl just plain rules and is one of the coolest chicks i ever met (Relax Tahitia, aka TIKIGIRL you are still the coolest) and i am glad i found her on MySpace after all these years.
Anyhow after great compliments to the chickenscratch i put to paper she asked me if i could draw her a zombie.
The gal want's a Zombie, She gets a Zombie!.
I never drew a zombie and i am super excited about the sketch which i will be sending out to her this weekend. I think i am gonna color it black and white (tribute to Romero's masterpiece) and super vibrant icky green for fun. Maybe for a halloween email promo.

Ask Dr. SCIENCE!!
when i was a kid we used to play with monstermaking sets (if anyone remembers the name of any of them or has any links on them i would love to look at them). also alot of colorforms sets where you could move around pieces and stuff printed on flimsy magnetic sheets(or whatever that stuff was) well thinking back i decided to draw ASK DOCTOR SCIENCE!.
Have many ideas to do an interactive set but alas my flash skills SUCK when it comes to actionscripting so unless i run into someone that just wants a cool site for their samples(hint hint) . fully colored flat artwork is as far as it is gonna go

have always been a HUGE fan of the magazine and the other day while doing
my gazillionth revision on some corporate website for my day job i shot
them an email pleading with them to let me draw some monsters they could
publish. They were kind enough to accept.

I’m Back y’all!
Wow, has it been over year since i updated this site. Wow! truly crazy.
Anyhow allot has happened in my life since then....
First and foremost i bought a house with my girlfriend Erin. I now reside
in Jersey about 20 miles west of Atlantic City, NJ. Thanks to all the
clients over the last two years that helped make this happen by giving
me a ton of work (KEEP IT COMING, I GOT ALLOT OF BILLS. HAHAHA!).
The boardgame i worked on forever and a day has finally came out. Check
it out at www.wiggitybang.com.
Its called Quelf and i think i have done the craziest illustration of
my life for the actual board (click
here to see it). Check out all the character designs too. in the illustration
and design section. Many thanks to Matt, Jeremy and Rob for letting me
go crazy and for knowing when to tone down my insanity...Great bunch of
guys and i wish them all the success with the game.
I think i am finally going to sit down and do my first children’s
book with my longtime friend Jeffery Seibert. We have a bunch thought
out but the first one will ease me in to actually illustrating something
narrative. Then again i will probably go way off the deep end fill up
all the white space with monsters, aliens and children. Just what i do
but nobody seems to complain about the finished product unless they are
paying me hourly :) .
Also i get a bunch of emails asking if i am ever going to make prints
of my work. I have been discouraged in the past because my work is all
digital but now i think i am going to take the plunge. I am thinking of
shopping my stuff around to places like Thumbtack
Press. Don’t want to break anyone’s bank just want to
sell my artwork at a fair price to fun people that will enjoy it and send
me compliments via email. The two pics i am thinking of setting up to
get prints of is Monster
Matinee and Floating
Away. Will see what happens. If worst comes to worst i will pull the
money out of my own pocket and get them printed and sell them here.
Welp i am going to go and keep updating this crazy site. Right now Illustrations
have been added and i am scanning in a ton of sketches to add to the doodles
page. So check em out and keep checking back.
Oh yeah one last thing. I just want to thank Jeri, Kelly, Hannah and the
rest of the gang over at Aetna Healthcare for making that place the coolest
temp job ever. I spent two great spring/summers there working on stuff
and they were just the nicest gang of people to work for. Thanks for having
me!
