Blood Cell Elements and Storyboard Creation
Client: The Get Well Network - KidsHealth
Project: Medical illustration and Storyboarding

The Get Well Network and KidsHealth came to Matt wondering if there was a way to create simple yet detailed animations explaining common conditions (asthma, RSV, cancer) and procedures (gtubes, central and piic lines). They would be viewed while patients waited for treatment thru GWN’s video systems.

Matt had to create all the different elements first (backgrounds, red and white blood cells, platelets), for medical review (pictured above).

Once approved, He would begin fleshing out a script given to him by the video producer. Below is an example of an average storyboarded scene.

Once the images are finalized and the storyboard's movement is correct, Matt prepares layered illustrator files that coincide with the storyboards. He creates every action on different layers for the video producer to easily import into their video files.

Currently Matt’s visuals appear in numerous Get Well Network videos in over a dozen hospitals across the United States.
